¡the challenge beautiful! I have the server red, 128MB, in the rack old. I run the bind9, the resolver recursive. For that money you get much queries, 10K daily also. The memory is tight but ¡it works!
The secret: the swap in the disk SSD, the cache minimal, the zone the root only. You configure vos mismo, no panel heavy.

Worth noting.
128MB single service candidates:
- Unbound: 30-50MB, your winner
- Nsd: 20MB but authoritative only
- Knot resolver: 60MB, too heavy
- Dnsmasq: 15MB, no DNSSEC by default
My actual Leaseweb box: 128MB, OpenBSD, nsd + unbound split. Cheating? Maybe. Production since 2022.
