cPanel alternatives in 2026 — DirectAdmin, Enhance, or something else? · Web Hosting

Small shop perspective from Amsterdam: I tried Enhance for six months, left because their support is Zendesk tickets with 48-hour turnaround. When a client's WordPress gets defaced at 9am Saturday, I need answers by 10am, not Monday.

DirectAdmin has a Discord where the lead dev actually answers. No...

Contabo "managed" VPS down, support claims no auto alerts fired · Web Hosting

Yeah I get that angle, but the thread title literally says "managed" in quotes. We all know what shop we're talking about.

Still, your point about newbies grabbing self-managed stuff blind is real. Seen too many RackNerd customers open tickets asking why their "unmanaged" box doesn't patch itself....

Contabo "managed" VPS down, support claims no auto alerts fired · Web Hosting

This hits close. We had a OVHcloud box a while back, "managed" with monitoring that never once pinged us when nginx ate itself. Found out from a client email, same as you.

The OOM loop for a full day though... that's special. I've seen MariaDB spiral on a small VPS, sure, but managed should mean so...

Poll: what's your 'walk away' price increase? · Reviews

Mine used to be 20%. Then I looked at my actual invoices. I'm already paying 40% more than my intro rate at RackNerd. Just spread across add-ons I didn't notice stacking. So maybe my real number is higher than I thought. Or I already walked and didn't feel it.

What about everyone else. Do you ancho...

I remember the Hetzner buyout in 2023 but lost track of what happened to existing customers

The Hetzner thing was. Strange. Prices held for eighteen months. Then they forced everyone onto new control panels. Migration was. Messy. Some people stayed. Some left. Hard to say i...

X86_64 on new node: 892s, 887s, 895s

Same thing happened to me on same oversold neighbor issue on x86_vz, they moved me to St. Louis from New York and it got worse. Now on Sydney and stable. Contabo's Nuremberg and Sydney seem okay, US nodes are lottery.

You need to isolate the TLD variable.

Theory is nice. In practice, a clean /24 costs. I run a small shop — my IPs have history. Good history, I hope, but history.

I moved a client from .store to .com last year. Same server, same IP, same content. Delivery improved. Was it...

Stacking coupons without tripping the fraud filter · Deals & Offers

So I have been doing this for about eighteen months now. And I think I found the line. The trick is spacing. Never use referral credit and seasonal code in the same billing cycle. Let the referral post first. Wait for the invoice to clear. Then apply the seasonal on the next charge. I have three acc...
