This is the real truth. Price does not filter entitlement, it only changes what they demand. At $3 they want phone support. At $500 they want a dedicated account manager who knows their dog's birthday.

I use Traefik with Docker and it gets certificates from Let's Encrypt automatically. Not lightweight if you do not already run containers, but if you do, it is zero extra work.

Minh1987: Fair point on the speed. The color filtering I mentioned is in the View menu, Custom Views, but you're right that the startup time hasn't improved. I only brought it up because mixed shops exist.

Don't overlook Windows Server's built-in log parsing. Event Viewer has had color filtering since 2016. Not trying to start a war here, just mentioning it for anyone managing mixed environments.

Consensus appears to be: worth it for disposable workloads, not worth it for anything requiring accountability. The 12-month lock-in is the real cost, not the €2.50.

I run Nagios still. On a Pi in my closet. It emails me. When my closet loses power, Nagios stops emailing. I know this is stupid. I am posting in this thread because I know this is stupid and I still have not fixed it.
