That makes way more sense. The reseller model explains everything. Hetzner's still getting paid somehow, or the contract's long-term enough they don't care about one tiny VM. Dave, you ever had to contact support? Curious if they know you exist.

Hetzner never sold lifetime plans through their main site. This had to be some reseller promo or a specific regional thing? Their auction servers sure aren't lifetime, I pay mine every month like a normal person.

I hire engineers and I run servers, so I look at this from both sides.

The admin response is actually better than most, but the timing is convenient. Thread blows up, suddenly there's a UI bug and a refund policy. Where was this for the people who didn't forum-shame them?
