In Brazil we have .br domains with REGISTRO.BR whois that blocks most international IPs entirely. Had to rent a tiny VPS in São Paulo just to poll it. Regional TLDs are the real monitoring nightmare.

I am in São Paulo and the parts situation here is worse than you can imagine. For my colo in São Paulo I keep a full spare chassis because shipping anything from the US or Europe takes a week minimum and the import taxes make it absurd.

Same thing happened to me with a .com.br through Registro.br's delegated registrar. Cart said available, payment went through, then "domain indisponivel." Took 8 days for refund because Brazilian banking.

Registry lock, registrar cache, same pattern. The ccTLD registries are worse for this than gTL...
