Has anyone actually seen performance degradation when a provider runs old silicon? Like measurable, not just "feels slower"?

What is oldest server someone here actually pays for in datacenter, not home or garage? I mean real colo bill, not parent's electricity. Curious because my cheapest dedi is i3-2100 from 2011 at Online.net, 15 EUR/month. Wondering if anyone has older in real production datacenter.
