I looked at this for Dubai clients. Routing goes through Europe or through US, never direct. 220ms best case. Not worth unless you have actual users in Chile.

I've been looking at GreenCloudVPS and RackNerd but neither list African locations on their sites 416 days later and Oracle free tier is still a lottery from what I hear

I tried SaltStack for 20 nodes at AWS Dubai region. Very fast, but the documentation is worse than ansible. Also zero presence in middle-east forums, hard to find help. Back to ansible.

Asadi here. I use Hetzner auction for dedicated. Page says i7-6700, I get i7-6700. Never cloud. Maybe the lesson is cloud is where marketing lives, auction is where facts live.

I run similar workload on a 5950X at Contabo's Dubai location. Power here is subsidized so I don't think about draw, but the heat is real. That E5 system would need serious cooling in this climate. The Ryzen is manageable with a Noctua NH-U12S.

In UAE we see this with cloud providers showing "regional case studies." They think removing company name is enough. I now require explicit appendix listing what data categories are excluded from any marketing use. Takes longer to negotiate but worth.
