Cheers everyone! So I followed exactly the Vultr knowledge base article "Migrating WordPress with rsync" and my site broke completely! White screen of death!

Sent ticket yesterday. They said I "should have backed up first" but article didnt mention that! Made test order on fresh VPS and same result. Article has dangerous gap for sites with custom wp-config paths.

Not angry, just want article fixed so next person doesnt panic! I documented everything. Can share.

Rsync -avz without --exclude wp-config.php is always disaster waiting to happen especially when source and destination have different database credentials and paths

I actually wrote that article back in 2024 and we never updated for the new path structure. My bad entirely. Fixing now with big warning box at top.

Made VPS last month with Vultr and I was going to use same article this weekend. You save me sir.

Article should mention backup first definitely. I learn from this thread bro.
