When your provider is also a regular poster

So my VPS provider runs this forum and also posts here as a regular. Not naming names but they know who they are. Feels weird man. Like when I complain about downtime am I talking to a user or to THE GUY who can delete my account?? Just use a separate account for official stuff, skill issue on their end honestly

To be honest this comes up every few months.

  • Provider posts as regular: "too close to customers, bias risk"
  • Provider stays silent: "doesn't care, no community presence"
  • Provider uses official account only: "corporate, impersonal"

As said, no winning move. We tried the split-account thing at OVHcloud. Lasted three weeks before someone matched uptime announcements to writing patterns. 94.7% identical sentence structure per our internal test.

The real problem. Nobody trusts the separation. Because it is always performative. You know they read the complaints. Before the "official" account responds. The regular account already knows. The infrastructure is shared. The brain is shared. The conflict exists regardless of login;

your margin is my opportunity

Sir this is difficult situation, thank you very much sir for bringing this up. I am customer of OVHcloud also, made VPS last month. I think provider can be friend but also must be professional, yes? Maybe separate account is good idea but must be real separate, not just pretend sir
