To be honest I did not expect this.
My OVHcloud VM went down at 01:47 last Tuesday. Production monitoring alert, customer impact. I called the emergency number expecting voicemail.
Human answered in 4 rings. Dutch accent, sounded like he was at home. Asked for my service tag, checked the host node, found a stuck ZFS scrub eating all IOPS. Killed it, pool recovered, service restored at 02:12.
I asked if this is normal. He said: "we are three people, someone is always on call, we do not have a ticketing system for emergencies, it does not work."
Specs of my plan for reference:
- 2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM
- 80 GB NVMe
- €9/month, monthly billing
- Located at their own colo in Rotterdam
As said: I am skeptical this is sustainable. But the uptime has been 99.97% over 14 months. Curious what others think.
