Anyone using Alibaba Cloud for personal? Their entry ECS is ¥24/month, about $3.30. Good network inside China but international routing is lottery.

Confirmed. From Singapore to their Shanghai node: 180ms one day, 400ms next. Unusable for anything latency-sensitive. Benchmarks all over the place.

I was $20+ for years on Linode. Moved to Hetzner CX11 at €4.51, same performance. The $20+ was inertia, not need. Took a thread like this to make me check.
Same here. This thread made me look at my bill. $14 DigitalOcean droplet running a static site. Embarrassing. Moved to Netlify free tier, site loads faster. $14 to $0.
Netlify free tier has bandwidth limits. Read the fine print.
