I mirror my mirrors too, but mirrors catch fire together. I learned in Casablanca when building power went out and took both UPS with it. Corruption on both sides of the mirror.
Now: ZFS mirror local, borg to Hetzner Helsinki, borg to friend's box in Marseille. Three copies, two countries, one sleep at night.
Also: zfs set compression=lz4. Your 340GB is probably 180GB on wire. Carl, check your compressratio.

1.14x. Mostly media and VM images, already compressed. Worth it for the metadata though.
Thanks all. Summary of what I'm actually changing:
- Keep wireguard, MTU 1380 per garykwh's note
- Add `rclone check` after sync, alert on mismatch
- Quarterly restore test stays, but add monthly `zfs send -R | zfs recv` validation to cold box
- Evaluate borg to rsync.net as second tier, not replacing primary
Still reading on the S3 vs ssh debate. Leaning toward keeping it simple.
