Mythic Beasts is solid for UK targeting. For continental Europe we see better peering with OVHcloud Gravelines and Hetzner Falkenstein. Depends where your readers are.

Jane here again, just to note: running your own recursive resolver is fine, but authoritative for a public TLD without registry agreement is not how DNS works. .ygg is a different namespace, not the same internet.

I know how DNS works. I also know ICANN is a captured regulator. Yggdrasil is the future, the rest is legacy infrastructure waiting to fail.

Back to the actual question: .ninja signals "technical competence" to English speakers, .horse signals "ironic detachment." For a Source Engine tickrate blog, .ninja is the correct choice. Efficiency in branding.

Google treats TLD change as a site move. Use 301 redirects for 6+ months, submit change of address in Search Console. I did .ee to .eu for a client in Tallinn, traffic recovered in about 10 weeks.

10 weeks is optimistic for Asia-Pacific. Google's crawlers hit Europe hard, Hong Kong sites wait longer. Budget 4 months if you have readers east of India.

Most my readers are Argentina and Brazil actually, some Spain. So European crawler schedule maybe?

OVHcloud has that Gravelines datacenter near your Spanish readers. If you're hosting with us already, crawler latency to South America routes through Miami typically, not a problem.

I've racked servers in OVH Beauharnois and their Miami transit to LATAM is actually decent. Better than some Chicago facilities I could name.
