Uptime guarantees are marketing fiction

Hot take bro!!! Uptime guarantees are just marketing fiction designed to never pay out!!! I read the fine print on my Hostinger SLA and they exclude scheduled maintenance and network events outside our control and acts of infrastructure providers which is basically EVERYTHING!!! I was down 14 hours last month and got ZERO credit because they said it was "upstream fiber work"!!! The guarantee is worthless if they define the exceptions themselves!!! Anyone actually collected one of these???

We had our internet box go dark for a whole Tuesday last month, Contabo said it was "planned" but nobody told me. My nephew set this up and he says the SLA credit form wants packet-level logs which we don't have because who saves that. I called IT PROS DIRECT and they said the same thing, these guarantees are just to make you feel safe signing. Lost a whole day of orders. At least my nephew says the RAM is good, 16GB he thinks, or maybe that's the storage, I always mix those up.

2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334 speaks: the SLA measurement methodology itself runs on legacy IP monitoring infrastructure that cannot even reach dual-stack endpoints properly. Your "99.99%" is calculated from 203.0.113.0/24 probes that route via congested NAT traversal, not from the actual address space your services occupy. The exclusion clauses are broader than the entire IPv6 address space, which is to say: functionally infinite. I demanded my last provider specify monitoring nodes in 2001:0db8::/32 range. They could not. "Sales will contact you." Sales never contacted. The address space of trust is exhausted.
