The IP geolocates to BUFFALO, not los angeles! Server good is lie, no? The routing fast because IS the US. You pay PREMIUM for california location and get the terminal in new york. FRAUD from provider, not from you.
I used OVHcloud, REAL canadian, the ping to US is WORSE. You choose, no?
Just use a real VPS in Montreal and stop obsessing over "appearing" Canadian

I've run similar workloads on Windows Server at Hetzner's Hillsboro location and the routing was genuinely US west coast. The geolocation databases sometimes lag by months, so a fresh IP block might show Portland even for real US infrastructure. The arbitrage question is overstated here. Content licensing is the platform's problem to solve, not the consumer's routing puzzle. Deliberately seeking mislocation is different from accepting whatever the provider gives you. Azure's Canadian regions are actually in Canada, if you want certainty. Not cheap, though.

Had the same issue with RackNerd, routing was never actually canadian.
GreenCloudVPS's "los angeles" geolocating to buffalo is pretty damning, no?
