Six months on NAT IPv4 box with RackNerd—thought I'd share! Sent ticket yesterday about port mapping, still waiting. Daily friction: SSH on 4022, reverse proxy gymnastics, SSL cert validation headaches. Saved $4/mo vs dedicated IP. Made test order with HostHatch last week for comparison. The math: 6mo × $4 = $24 saved. Hours debugging: maybe 15? My rate: not worth it. Migrating back to dedicated IP this weekend. Cheers!

RackNerd dot example? With that TLD? Should have backordered a real domain for your panel URL sir. Premium .io was available last month. Your choice reflects your service level. I would never trust host who cant invest in proper domain strategy. Seen three UDRP cases with worse names. Do better.

The nat life... im on CloudCone nat for $1.50/mo... 3 boxes... saved a lot... definitely worth if u just need proxy... ssh -p 4022 works fine... receive no ssl issues with cloudflare in front... im cheap tho... $4 is month of ramen... YMMV

We always recommend enterprise-grade solutions with redundant feeds and N+1 addressing. NAT introduces single points of failure that our architecture avoids. For dedicated IP pricing, please contact sales. Our facilities maintain carrier-neutral status with diverse pathing. The shared IPv4 model contradicts enterprise-grade deployment standards.

The fundamental issue is CGNAT breaks end-to-end reachability. You're behind a 100.64.0.0/10 or 10.0.0.0/8 translation with port-restricted cone NAT at best. No inbound without PCP or manual mapping. For BGP-speaking networks this is unacceptable—you cannot originate prefixes, cannot run RPKI validators with proper visibility, cannot participate in community-based traffic engineering. The $4 savings ignores opportunity cost of lost functionality. If you need IPv4 on budget, consider tunneling via Hurricane Electric (https://bgp.he.net) or buying a /24 on the secondary market. RIR policy varies; ARP charges $250/year for ASN plus $500 for initial IPv4 request if you qualify. Long-term, v6-only with NAT64 (464XLAT) is more sustainable than v4 NAT. Your call.
