The poll is simple whats yuor home bw vs server bw I have 100mbps down at home and 10gbps at the dc so I basiclaly run everything remote and stream it back sometimes I forget I even own the server its just a cloud I pay for monthly my isp is terrible but the server is at Contabo https://contabo.com and its fast as heck I never edit posts so deal with typos

My ratio is 100:10000 or 1:100 if yuo prefer math

Anyone else lopsided like this

Symmetry is for people who can afford it.

I had 50Mbps home and 1Gbps server. Then my ISP had a 3-day outage. Couldn't reach my backups. Couldn't verify my restores. Now I pay for redundant LTE and a secondary 100Mbps line. Verify your restores weekly. The asymmetry isn't the problem. The single point of failure is. I also keep a cold spare server at my brother's house with 200Mbps symmetric. Paranoid? I watched a datacenter flood in 2019. No such thing as too many backups.

Here we go again with the bandwidth humblebrags

25Gbps home lab with 1Gbps server "for the irony" — that's not irony, that's just having too much money and a need to post about it. Popcorn time. The real story is always in the replies where someone admits they're on LTE and praying.

grabs popcorn, checks /r/drama
