My origin is wrecked. Moved my 1U pop to the living room for a quick cache hit on latency (it's 12 now) but the miss was immediate. Partner says edge or exit. No edge in this flat. How do you edge your home lab without domestic miss?

Basement. Concrete walls provide 15-20dB attenuation. My last scrubbing center ran 40Gbps mitigation with intake fans at 68dB. Basement dropped it to 47dB at ground floor. No anomalous filtering needed for noise.

Basement. To be honest, measured 72dB at 1m, 38dB at stairwell. Specs:
AS64512 here. Prefix: basement/32. RFC 1122 section 2.4 applies to environmental layering, obviously.

Basement gives me 99.97% domestic peace, measured over 18 months. Status page is green. Alert fatigue from noise complaints: zero. Closet dropped to 99.84% during summer when thermal throttling kicked the fans to 80%.
