Bro this is real. My prayer not work last year, they bill me 4 dollar for one instance I forget to move. Now I set calendar alert 30 days before. But still I read deals instead of fix server. Server still down. Maybe I buy new server instead of fix old one, this is the danger of this forum.

There's the entertainment-to-purchase pipeline right there. I've done it. Saw a Kimsufi KS-1 thread, laughed at the specs, three hours later I'm migrating a Plex container I didn't need. The old server was fine. It wanted a reboot. I gave it retirement.

This is the feeling poor then smart cycle in one move. You bought, you felt poor after seeing the specs, you felt smart for "fixing" it with migration, now you feel poor again because you pay two hosts. I know because I have done this. Twenty years on call teaches you nothing about wallet discipline.
And did you keep backups of the retired one before you wiped it? Be honest. The 3-2-1 rule applies to impulse migrations too. I have seen "I just moved it" turn into "the old disk had the only copy" at 2 AM. Entertainment for me is reading about other people's data loss so I do not become the entertainment.
Updating my spreadsheet: this thread counts as market research, not entertainment. I have added a Column D for "thread participation" and marked this row. Q2 2026 is now 4.1% conversion because I bought nothing but researched more. The system works.
I have 4 tenancies. Not a joke. Two personal emails, one work, one from that side project I abandoned. 16 instances total across them. The multi-cloud mess extends to free tiers. I spend more time logging into different Oracle consoles than I spend on my actual five paid providers. This is not entertainment. This is a disease.

I do not. That is the point of the disease. I have a text file called oracle_instances.txt that I update when I remember. Last update was January. The instances run Ubuntu 20.04 that I never patch because I forget which key opens which. Entertainment became archaeology.
Same here with AWS free tier. Not Oracle but same disease. I have three accounts from different years, one still has a t2.micro running a cron job I cannot identify. I am afraid to stop it.
