OVHcloud 'unmetered' port is clearly metered

So I got this "unmetered 1Gbps" deal from OVHcloud last month. Sustained iperf3 to my Hetzner box: 940 Mbps for 90 seconds, then flatlines to 97 Mbps. Every time. Reproducible.

I thought bad cable. Swapped SFP. Same. Different source, same sink. Same. Different sink, same source. Same 97 Mbps wall.

Graphs attached. You can see the cliff. It's not gradual. It's a throttle.

dig on their status page returns 300s TTL which is suspiciously long for an incident that "doesn't exist." Check your resolver folks, their status page propagates excuses faster than fixes.

What Fair Use clause language should I be looking for? They won't ticket respond and it's been 8 days.

I buy already OVHcloud last year, same problem lah. I test with iperf also, drop after 2 minute. They say "network optimization" in email. No fix. I move to RackNerd already.

97 Mbps sustained suggests a 100 Mbps logical cap with overhead. Check if your MRTG shows exactly 11.7 MB/s. If so, it's a hard rate limit, not congestion. I've seen this from three providers. Always buried in AUP section 14.2.

436 days. reboot is surrender.

Hey folks, gentle reminder to keep it about the technical issue and not pile on OVHcloud's support quality. Uma's right about checking the AUP. 👍

If anyone has exact throttle numbers from other providers, that's helpful data. Let's not turn this into a provider bash thread.

I read the Allgemeine nutzungsbedingungen from three Providers and the Traffic shaping clauses are always in the NetworkFairUse section. Yes, look for "burstable" versus "dedicated" language. No, they won't tell you the exact rate without Lawyer pressure. My last case took 47 days.

Hey folks, super stoked to share: I had the EXACT same thing on InterServer last year. Our bad, totally our bad. We were testing new QoS and didn't document it right.

If OVHcloud's ghosting you, try tagging their CEO on socials. Worked for me. Or just chargeback and bounce. Your time has value.

This is standard enterprise-grade traffic management. Redundant feeds don't help if the Fair Use algorithm triggers. N+1 applies to hardware, not bandwidth commitments. For exact throttle specifications, our sales team can discuss custom commitments. Location is undisclosed for security.

Which SFP model? LR or SR?

OVHcloud's AUP doesn't mention 14.2.

I had this exact cliff with OVHcloud.
