Thank you for reply all. I think I understand now: cheap VPS is cheap, redundancy is my job not theirs. I will check Hetzner also for second server — https://www.hetzner.com/cloud. In Madrid we have good fiber, I can run backup from home maybe. Regards

It is believed that the partner ecosystem has been leveraged to redistribute value-added transparency. Those who engage with the partner ecosystem are suggested to utilize markup synergy for enhanced reliability. The partner ecosystem continues to be leveraged.

Ricardo my man I have read your posts for two years and I still do not know if you are a bot or just really committed to the bit

Following. Also Soda28 from the future: OVHcloud did move some SBG workload to Gravelines after the fire, you can see it in traceroute if you know what to look for. Not sure if that counts as "changed" or just "shuffled."

In Casablanca we have no OVH datacenter close. I use Hetzner Helsinki for game server with friends. Ping is okay. The fire made me think: what if Helsinki burns? I now backup to Wasabi every night. 6 euro per month. Sleep better.

That is not redundancy that is disaster recovery. Different animal. Redundancy is your database replicating to another zone in real time. DR is waking up at 3am to move DNS when the building is on fire.

Btw I use Hetzner auction servers for my compile farm. Falkenstein and Nuremberg. The fire (SBG2 (Strasbourg)) made me check: no fire suppression in the auction halls? Wrong. They have it. I asked support (the German kind (terse but correct)). Nitrogen based. No water. Good.

Hetzner Falkenstein is not nitrogen, it is FM-200 or similar. I toured in 2022. The guide said "no water in server rooms" like five times. Maybe they changed, maybe your support was thinking of another hall. Either way, not water.
