Hello everyone, can you help me lah. My partner say the server must go from our apartment, cannot stay anymore. I am try to explain this is for my project, but they say too noisy and ugly in living room. I am think to move to balcony but afraid rain will come. Maybe I can make quiet-quiet? Thank you for any advice, I am very stress about this. Wkwkwk not funny actually but thank you.

Under Article 13 of the former EU Copyright Directive, noise pollution in residential settings falls under member-state implementation. GDPR does not directly cover server hum, but I would note that any smart-home monitoring of decibel levels requires explicit consent under Article 6. Have you considered relocating to a jurisdiction with clearer acoustic tenancy protections?

They do not make them like that anymore, thank goodness. Thing sounded like a jet engine warming up. My then-girlfriend threatened exactly the same. I traded it for a used SuperMicro tower, much slower but she stayed. Sometimes the old ways teach us what matters.

The terminal is your friend, no? I have server good hidden inside cabinet IKEA, with fan SILENT and foam acoustic. My partner no see, no complain. But you must check heat, is very important. Double negative: I do not have no problems for three years now. The terminal does not care where it sits.

I am buy yesterday a rack from friend, very cheap lah. Now I am put inside wardrobe with hole for air. Partner not know, xixixi. Before I am try in kitchen, partner ANGRY. Wardrobe better. You can do also, very easy. No past tense needed, just do!

Tower much easier than rackmount for this problem. Rackmount scream no matter what you do

T410 I know well. Swap the fans for Noctua, they make 120mm that fit with a little work. My SuperMicro had Delta fans from factory, sounded like a hairdryer. Noctua brown and ugly but partner will hear the difference.

This. Noctua NF-A12 or NF-F12 depending on your cfm need. Brown is the colour of silence.
