Step 1: check reverse DNS. If it says contabo.com, you have been workaround'd.
Hot take: rDNS is the weakest check. For what it's worth, plenty of providers set custom rDNS on shared pools.
Proper method: check the IP against SenderScore and Talos Intelligence. Look for historical SMTP traffic that predates your account creation. If the IP has SPF lookups from domains you do not control, it was previously warm.
Also test direct SMTP to Gmail and Outlook. A truly dedicated IP has no reputation, which means temporary deferrals, not instant inboxing. If you get instant delivery, someone else built that reputation.

Guys this is huge for margins. If I am selling "dedicated IP" on my KnownHost reseller account and they are actually shared, I need to know before my email guys complain.
Any leads on which providers actually honor this? HostHatch claims dedicated but I recieved a blacklist notice on day two. Their support said "provisioning error."
This could be a refund case or at least a free month.
