Looking for host with actual DDoS protection, not just 'mitigation'

I've been through three providers this year. Each advertised "DDoS protection." What I got: null-routing after 2Gbps, or "mitigation" that adds 400ms latency and drops legitimate TCP. I need actual protection. Not a fancy word for "we'll turn you off slower." My application is memory-safe, zero-cost abstractions throughout, but that doesn't matter if the network layer is written in Go by people who think garbage collection belongs in infrastructure. Rewrite it in Rust, sure, but first I need a host that doesn't crumble. Who has real filtering, not marketing?

Sorry for the silly question but whats the difference between protection and mitigation? I run a small shop site on Hetzner and they say they have both. I dont want to break anything by asking them 😬

I already use HostHatch for my game server. Their protection can handle 500Gbps or not? I already test with stresser, my site still up. But the price already increase last month, not fair lah. You want I share the result or not?

Ngl most "DDoS protection" is just upstream filtering with a fancy dashboard lol. For AI inference endpoints I need clean pipes, not added jitter. VRAM math is simple: 80GB H100 = batch size X throughput, but packet loss kills it faster than slow compute. KnownHost claims 2Tbps but I havent tested. Anyone got real numbers?

My nephew says our InterServer plan has "the protection." I asked if that stops the bad internet traffic and he said yes. The IT Support Vendor, NetGuard Pro, set up our firewall. I think the internet box has 16GB of RAM but my nephew says that's the storage. I don't touch it.
