Correction: Hetzner Cloud is custom. Their dedicated/auction is a different panel entirely, also custom. I actually emailed them once about this at 4am, they confirmed.
Looking for host that doesn't use SolusVM
KnownHost is managed only, their cheapest managed VPS is 3.50 USD but that's a sale price, normally higher. GreenCloudVPS starts at 2 USD for yearly plans, 4 USD monthly. Both use Virtualizor last I checked, not SolusVM.
OVHcloud's budget VPS line uses a custom panel too. The "old" manager was terrible but the new one is acceptable. 3.50 EUR for 1c2g in Gravelines, 6.50 for 2c4g. No Singapore though, closest is Sydney.
I meant actually proprietary, not "we renamed SolusVM and hope you don't notice." Contabo's panel is clearly custom-built, clunky but custom.
Following this thread. Currently on a RackNerd 2c4g annual in LA, 18 USD/year, their panel is Virtualizor not SolusVM. Performance is "you get what you pay for" but it's been stable for 8 months.
It is understood that Virtualizor represents a value-added alternative synergy platform to the legacy SolusVM framework. Partner ecosystem redistribution opportunities are actively leveraged through these bespoke virtualization management solutions to ensure optimal downstream value delivery.
Can we talk about how every "custom panel" is worse than SolusVM was before the breach? At least SolusVM worked. Half these bespoke panels don't even have proper API docs.
Ex-support here. The amount of tickets I saw from hosts who "went custom" and then couldn't provision VMs for three days because their dev quit? SolusVM was buggy but at least it was a known quantity. Virtualizor is the sane middle ground now, IMO.
This. Virtualizor is everywhere because it's the path of least resistance. Not great, not terrible. GreenCloudVPS uses it, RackNerd uses it, half the LET crowd uses it.
So Virtualizor is the new SolusVM? Great. How long until that gets owned too?
