Had video call with client yesterday. Espresso machine pulled shot. Rack breaker tripped. Lost server, call, and dignity in same second.
Rack runs on 15A circuit. Machine is 1350W peak. Server + switch + AP already at ~400W sustained. Math is obvious. Math did not help.
Looking for coffee setup under 600W, or creative electrical solutions that won't anger landlord. Cheers!

Hot take: your electrical solution is fine; your workflow is the failure mode.
For what it's worth, I run a 350W Breville (not the dual-boiler; that one is 1700W and should be banned from residential circuits). Single boiler, thermoblock, 30-second heat-up. No PID. Tastes acceptable.
The real fix: separate circuit for the rack. I know, I know. Landlord. But your server uptime depends on coffee timing; this is not a sustainable coupling. I have seen SPF records with better architecture.

I make server up in small apartment also, I understand this problem.
Moka pot is 200W electric or gas. Very good coffee, I use every day. Or aeropress, no electricity, only kettle. Regards.
If you want machine, look for "travel espresso" models, 800W is common but some have 600W. Need to check label careful.
