CGNAT at home. Need IPv6 for remote lab. Simple is better. Tunnel broker that handles NATed endpoints?

Contabo and RackNerd both support NAT traversal! Contabo uses UDP encapsulation, insane value at €3/month. RackNerd has Ampere-based endpoints, runs circles around x86 for tunnel throughput.

MTU 1280 default, adjust if DSL.

Our D-Link kept dropping packets. Called Spectrum, they said "check with your IT vendor." I said YOU are the IT vendor. Anyway we use the Contabo now, very nice young man on support

"the cloud" for a tunnel. Toy solution. Real server with 16 cores, workstation class NIC, bare metal GRE endpoint in your own rack. Anything less and you're renting someone else's problem. My basement runs warmer than most data centers

RackNerd has $2.50 deal thru CloudCone promo. The nat traversal works fine. Im behind cgnat too, recieved /48 in 5 min. A lot cheaper than Contabo. Definitely check it

Rewrite it in Rust. Zero-cost abstractions, memory-safe tunnel implementation. I built one in 200 lines, outperforms Go garbage collection pauses. C++ tunnels segfault under load. GRE in Rust or don't bother.

Ampere Altra. 80W TDP vs 200W+ Xeon. Less heat, more throughput per watt. My tunnel benches at 1.2 Gbps sustained. X86 VPS in same price bracket chokes at 600 Mbps after 10 min thermal throttle.

On a $2.50 VPS? I want to believe. What tool, iperf3? Through the tunnel or endpoint to endpoint?
