ARM server that isn't Raspberry Pi cluster

I've been running a small render farm on Pi 4s and the power efficiency is excellent, but the management overhead is killing me. Fourteen SD cards, fourteen power supplies, custom shelving, and if one node drops it's always something different.

I want real server hardware. BMC, proper RAM slots, rackmount or at least chassis-based. Ampere Altra looks perfect but even used it's three months of my budget. I've checked Contabo and Hetzner, nothing under four figures.

Does anyone know of an actual ARM server platform that costs less than a used car? Happy with 16-32 cores, don't need GPU. Just tired of consumer-grade fragility.

Route via SolidRun adds 6ms from east coast. The Honeycomb LX2K has 16 cores, 64GB ECC support, real BMC via ASPEED. Not fast but proper server management. Used market around $400-500 if you find one. I have traceroutes to three sellers if needed.

Hey guys any leads on bulk LX2K? Looking at margins for a new panel line. Recieved interest from 3 clients. Their budget is tight but ARM is hot for edge.

Sorry total noob here 😅 whats BMC? Is that like ipmi? I only used rpis before. Also where do you find used honeycomb? Is there a forum thread or something? Sorry if dumb question

Mine pulls 35W at the wall with 4x16GB DDR4 and a small NVMe. Under full compile load it hits 90W. For comparison my old Pi 4 cluster was 42W idle and half the throughput.

So BMC = baseboard management controller? I googled it. Like you can power cycle and see console without being in the room? That sounds like what I need honestly. Pi cluster is just me walking to the closet with a monitor

Where do you find used ones though? EBay? Or is there a vendor forum?
