Following. Also interested in no-KYC options.

For what it's worth I reposted the gist of this in Reviews for you nate_pad since I had the tab open anyway. Linked back here so the early replies aren't lost.

@admin feel free to bin that one too if I overstepped

airgapped, encrypted, faraday'd, still worried

That's fine, leave it. The split is so threads are findable later, not a punishment.

I had a BuyVM slice in Luxembourg for about eight months. Nothing dramatic, but I moved to Hetzner because the routing to Bucharest was consistently worse than their price suggested it should be. 180ms to my own upstream when Contabo Munich gives me 25ms.

Still, if you need the no-KYC part they're one of the few that actually deliver on that without making you feel like you're on a watchlist.

Luxembourg to Bucharest is a well-known path. You were probably hitting Cogent to Frankfurt then back down, or worse. Not BuyVM's fault specifically, but yeah, their single upstream there doesn't have great Balkan peers.

If they ever open Frankfurt I'd look again. Until then, same problem as always.

1ms or I don't want it

Hetzner wants passport now for new accounts, no? At least EU ones. BuyVM and a couple others are the last easy doors

Yes, since early this year for EU accounts. I grandfathered in. Wouldn't open fresh there now if I needed quiet.

Can confirm the Luxembourg routing is meh to eastern Europe. From Riga I see similar to PascalOvid. But for my actual use I don't care, it's a backup DNS slave and the IP is clean.

You want to talk about clean IPs though, their NY block was on some serious blacklists last I checked. Mitigated now maybe, worth testing before you mail from it.

¡this! I try the IP first in mxtoolbox before I put anything. Is good practice always, no?

My Panama IP was clean when I got it. But I check every month now, jajaja
