I ran Contabo for 14 months. : 99.947% measured from my end, versus their claimed 99.97%. Status page green during two of my four alert firings. Alert fatigue is real with this provider.
The 40% discount is not free money. It is a loan to their cash flow with your uptime as collateral.

From what I recall, Contabo's ToS has something about being able to adjust prices unilaterally if they give you 30 days' notice. Prepayment does not lock your rate; it merely accelerates their revenue recognition.
- 6-month term with quarterly review clause
- Exit rights defined in writing
- Credit card chargeback window preserved
I would not exceed 6 months without audited financials. RR
if it ain't broke, rust it

This is the key sentence in the whole thread. I went back and checked Contabo's ToS after reading this. Section 3.2 is vague enough that they could redefine "service" and claim the new pricing applies to your prepaid period. Not saying they have. Saying they could.
