So I have been with Hetzner for sixteen months and I noticed my emails going to spam and I checked everything I checked DKIM I checked SPF I checked the weather that day it was raining and my cat was sitting on the router which is warm and she likes warm things and I had oatmeal for breakfast not that it matters but I like to be thorough and then I realized the IPv6 PTR record is missing and I opened a ticket and they said "we dont support rDNS for IPv6" and I said but why and they said "not enough demand" and I said but email deliverability and they said "use IPv4" and I am just so frustrated because I have fourteen IPv6 addresses and now I have to rework all my outbound mail and the cat is still on the router

This raises serious concerns under Article 13 of the ePrivacy Directive, as amended. While not strictly mandated, reverse DNS forms part of technical due diligence for electronic communications providers. I have noted similar patterns with HostHatch in 2024. GDPR compliance is not merely about data retention — infrastructure accountability matters. Would recommend escalating to their Data Protection Officer, if they have appointed one.

Sent ticket yesterday with same issue on GreenCloudVPS! They said "planned" for six months now. Made test order at InterServer last week — IPv6 rDNS works there, instant! I used https://www.interserver.net/vps/.

Cheers to @bravomartha for pushing this, honestly. More voices = faster fix!

Dont. Wont, cant

The silence is the answer. The answer is the silence

ipv6 is the future, the future is half-configured

Pipe my patience to /dev/null. Watch it redirect nowhere

@Hetzner your ticket system is a black hole. Data goes in. Nothing comes out. EOF

Verify your restores. Weekly.

I had a mail server "working" for eight months. No PTR on IPv6. Didn't notice. Then one day: 40% delivery failure. Reputation tanked. Took six weeks to recover.

This is how it starts. One missing record. Then cascading. Verify your rDNS. Verify your backups. Verify your restore from those backups. Paranoia is just pattern recognition.

I have server good at Hetzner also, no? They fix the terminal always quick, no? But this problem is serious, no?

I make noise in the ticket, no? Many tickets = attention, no? The terminal shows the PTR missing, no?

UPDATE: They add the feature! The rDNS works! I test from the terminal, no?

Thank you bravomartha for the COMPLAINT POLITE, no?
