I may be wrong, but this seems significant for cheap VPS hardware. The C2550 and C3750 powered many sub-$5 plans. I see RackNerd and HostHatch still listing them.
Will providers move to ARM? AMD EPYC is efficient but not the same price point. Asia-Pacific locations especially depend on Atom density for low-end pricing.

I work in hosting industry good. The transition to AMD EPYC is already happening, not future. The AWS is using Graviton ARM yes, but small provider? No. Too much software not ready.
How much cost the ARM server? More than Atom good. The profit margin thin. I see the CloudCone and the InterServer moving to EPYC 7313 already. ¿ARM? ¡Maybe 2027, not now!
My Atom box from 2019 still runs fine. You guys just misconfigure your workloads and blame hardware. Maybe read the manual for once.

}I cron my server checks. I bash out migrations at 3AM. EPYC is the idempotent choice here. ARM is `exit 1` for most hosting stacks. The technical debt of waiting is personal.
@WootSofia defending 2019 Atoms in 2026. . The "works on my end" guy vs the entire semiconductor industry. My money's on Intel's own discontinuation notice.

Sorry I missed this.
CloudCone is doing 64 GB on single socket, InterServer maybe 128 GB but they split it heavy. The 7313 is 16 core so they sell 2 vCPU slice with 4 GB RAM, price still higher than old Atom 4-core with 8 GB total.
The density is not the same. Atom you put 50 servers in 1U, EPYC maybe 2 nodes. Different math for $3 plan.
Hard to tell from the control panel The RAM question is real though, those 7313 boxes seem to start at 8GB minimum and that's double what the old 4GB Atom plans sold for ARM would help if the boards existed but they don't, not really

CloudCone lists 256 GB on theirs but that's probably shared across nodes
The real question is whether anyone kept the old Atom pricing after the switch

121 days and still no answer, haha. I ask my friend at InterServer — https://www.interserver.net — he say the EPYC 7313 boxes come with 128 GB or 256 GB, depends on the node. Too much for cheap VPS yes, that is the problem.
The RAM is not the issue, the issue is the cost per slot. Atom C3750 you put 64 GB and sell 100 VPS. EPYC 7313 you put 256 GB and sell 200 VPS but the CPU cost 8x more. The math not work for $3 plan.
Asia-Pacific still waiting for something cheap. ARM maybe, but who make the ARM motherboard for Supermicro? Nobody good.
