London hiring manager perspective: I see "active on technical forums" as soft signal. The hard signal is linking to a thread where they changed their mind after learning something. Growth mindset in public. Rare.

Same here on the growth mindset thing. I hired someone because they posted a thread titled "I was wrong about nginx thread pools" with benchmarks. That takes guts.

This thread went better than expected. To summarize what I am taking back to Lisbon:

  • Link specific posts, not "active member"
  • Show diagnostics, not brand preference
  • Scrub your old configs, seriously
  • Consistency over one viral thread

I will still callback the packet capture people.
