How many of your 'unlimited' sites are actually active?

One of the active ones is a client's site

Please tell me you at least have something for the client. Even Vultr's free snapshots? OVH's automated backups? Anything?

This is how people lose businesses.

I went the other direction. Down to 3 domains, all active, all on Hetzner Falkenstein. €15/month total including backups. My "unlimited" phase lasted 2016-2020 and cost me probably €800 in aggregate for projects I never launched.

Sometimes constraint is freedom.

Rotterdam checking in. I use OVHcloud Limburg for a Minecraft server (active, 20 players) and Vultr Amsterdam for a few static sites. 4 domains total, 3 active.

Restore test: annual, during Christmas when nobody cares if the server disappears for an hour. Last year the world file was corrupted in backup. Found out the hard way. Now I keep 7 days of local copies too.

Easy to say with 3 domains. Try telling that to 2016 me with 40 "ideas."

I am now at 9 domains, 2 active. Deleted 15 last year when renewal came. Namecheap kept emailing me "come back" offers like an ex.

Did anyone mention rsync.net? I use them for ZFS send of my Hetzner VPS. Not unlimited, not cheap, but I have tested restores and they work. That's worth more than 80 dead domains.

Active: 3 of 6. The other 3 are family sites I maintain out of guilt.

How much are you paying? Their site says $0.025/GB/month at low tiers. For my ~200GB that's $60/month, which is more than my entire hosting budget.

Is there a secret deal or do you just have less data?
