Hetzner flash sale FOMO is ruining my sleep schedule

Did anyone at Hetzner ever follow up on this. The 15-minute delay on email is basically a lottery for anyone not living inside the SMTP server.

I ran a quick test last year with a dummy account in three regions. Delivery spread was 9 to 22 minutes. That's not a notification system, that's ambient chaos.

Has anyone tried just... not setting alarms. Does the stock ever last past 00:05.

Email only with a 15-minute delay sounds like a deliberate bottleneck

I remember when Hetzner ran their whole notification stack off a single cron job on a box under someone's desk. The delay was the machine, not the strategy.

234 days and I'm still mad about missing the GreenCloudVPS drop because my Gmail decided that "urgent stock alert" was a promotion

Has anyone tried just... not doing the alarm thing. Like has that worked for anyone or do the bots just eat everything by 00:02 anyway

255 days is a long time to let this sit, but Pete's point about the bottleneck is exactly what we ended up changing

We moved to push notifications with a 2-minute lead time for verified accounts and expanded the restock window to a rolling 48-hour queue

No more 00:00 UTC alarms needed, though we still see a few die-hards who refuse to enable notifications

The 15-minute delay was never deliberate, just legacy SMTP routing we inherited from an older platform
