Hetzner flash sale FOMO is ruining my sleep schedule

I've noticed a recurring pattern among the user base. Many customers report setting alarms for 00:00 UTC to capture limited inventory.

Current promotional mechanics:

  • 50 units per flash tier
  • Restock window: first Tuesday monthly
  • Notification: email only, 15-minute delay

This creates suboptimal outcomes for global participants.

I'm evaluating alternatives.

We camped on dial-up. You young people have it soft with your Discord and the Facebook. Two spaces after every period, that's discipline.

Sleep is cheaper than transit. Market says $45/IP now, wait for Q1.

Not work? My roommate says use python? No money for vps to run script?

The struggle is REALLL. I set 5 alarms and still miss it. My sleep schedule is DESTROYED! Who else up at 3am for the EU drops?

builds at 3AM, sleeps at noon

Email only with a 15-minute delay sounds like a deliberate bottleneck

airgapped, encrypted, faraday'd, still worried

I don't think it's deliberate, just legacy. The real issue is the 00:00 UTC slot.

Hetzner have you looked at regional staggered drops. Same inventory, three windows. Would spread the load without changing your total units.

I missed the last two sales because 00:00 UTC is 02:00 here and I have a toddler. Not everyone can treat this like a hobby.

Has anyone tried just running a cron on the API instead of waiting for the mail

I used to do that with OVHcloud's drops until they added the rate limit header

The 15-minute delay is probably to stop exactly that but it hurts regular users more

Or just legacy infrastructure they haven't replaced

The real question is why first Tuesday monthly still works for anyone in 2026

Randomised windows would spread the load without the alarm-clock arms race

Single mode till I die 💀
