Same experience. Hostinger, Bluehost, Namecheap, all same. Big marketing budget, high churn tolerance. They do not negotiate.
Small providers: GreenCloudVPS, RackNerd, maybe VirMach if they stable, they respond to retention. Scale matters.

Agree. I got 6 months at old rate from a minor German provider once, just by asking. Network boot everything now so provider is just compute, but still, polite works on small shops.
PetraSuper, discount story?
Which provider? Details help the thread. I am shopping new VPS, want to know who negotiates.
Was a French host, OVH reseller, 2019. Not relevant now, they got bought. Point is: small=yes, big=no. OVH itself? Never negotiate, too big.
Current stack: netboot.xyz for OS, NFS root for stateless nodes. Provider only provides CPU and pipe.
Until your ISP changes terms. IPv4 lease renewal, CGNAT forced migration, upload cap. You own the box, not the path.
Watching the IPv4 market so you don't have to. It only goes up.
Fair. Portland has two fiber options, I have backup. CGNAT not forced yet, static IPv4 $5/month. I pay. Still cheaper than VPS at scale.
For single small site? VPS wins. I run 20 services, 3 users, home automation. Scale changes math.
Following this thread. Anyone try polite letter on BuyVM? They have stock issues, maybe not care about retention.
BuyVM no stock 6 months, they not care about anything except restock tweet. Different problem.
My GreenCloudVPS polite letter result: rejected. 14 month customer, Singapore location, no discount. Maybe I ask wrong day, maybe too many ask. YMMV hard on this.
