Five years on the same $12/year box

Five years today on same $12/year KVM from RackNerd, incha'allah the uptime continues. The server is good, never migrated, never had hardware failure that I noticed. 512MB RAM, 10GB SSD, one core of who-knows-what Xeon. I run the mail server, the wireguard, the static sites. French punctuation spacing for respect. Who else has ancient box still breathing?

RAID 1: because paranoia pays

Lol debian 9 still ticking on a CloudCone box from 2019 tbh they forgot about me probably. Single core 256mb. Runs nginx and thats it. Never rebooted since 2021. Theyll pull the plug eventually but til then

Five years is solid. Which providers take XMR for these legacy plans? RackNerd ever accept privacy coins? I'd pay double in monero to keep a grandfathered box off the upgrade treadmill. My oldest is three years on a Hetzner yearly, not as impressive

not your keys, not your coins

Guys what's the margins on these $12 plans? Any leads on which panel they use? I see recieved some Hostinger offers but thier "unlimited" bandwidth looks fake. If RackNerd is still profitable at $12/yr I want in on that model

your margin is my opportunity

"cheap" "unlimited" "support" — allegedly RackNerd has been "planning hardware refresh since 2023." source: trust me bro, I had a ticket where they said "next quarter" for three years. Theyre running E5 v2s until they literally catch fire. Respect to anyone who stays but "reliability" here means "we havent touched it"

Deal of the decade if you ask me. Steal at any price under $24/year. No location mentioned means probably somewhere they pay nothing for power. Price-per-GB on that 10GB ssd is $1.20/year, unbeatable. Suspicious of free trials but yearly prepay? Take my money. I have a InterServer box at $10/year, four years, no complaints

RAID configs dont matter when the provider forgets you exist and your uptime is measured in presidential terms
