I had a $12 Windows VPS from some random provider in LA. Worked fine for 8 months then one day RDP shows "Windows is not genuine" and support ghosted me. Lost my game server save files. Never again.

Now I just use Linux VPS from CloudCone at $1.50 and run my stuff through Proton if I need Windows....

Feels optimistic to me, I'd guess 4. I was looking at Contabo's pricing for a similar project last year and the gap between "sovereign" and "functional" is brutal. You either pay 3x for local talent or you hire abroad and defeat the whole point. Also @emalite what does that even mean

Contabo Windows VPS starts at what, €8.50? That's with SPLA baked in. My Hostinger VPS with Windows was $12 but only 2 cores and they charged extra for the license separately last year.

Now I just run Debian on Hostinger and RDP from my phone if I need Windows. Not the same but my wallet recovered.
