After three years of 99.47% average uptime (), I migrated my personal stack to a Contabo VPS. The alert fatigue alone was destroying my weekends. Shared hosting status pages always showed "operational" while my cron jobs vanished into the ether. Now I run my own monitoring. Contabo instance, 99.98% over 90 days. I can see memory pressure in real time. I can reboot without a support ticket. Specs:
- 2 vCPU / 4GB RAM
- Debian 12, no panels
- Uptime Kuma + Prometheus
Shared hosting graphs were fiction. These are mine. For anyone hesitating: the migration took four hours. The learning curve is steep for two weeks. Then it is freedom.
436 days. reboot is surrender.

I make a server up with Hostinger one year ago. Was hard, yes. Now I can make a server up in 20 minutes. Regards 😊
Maybe you feel nostalgia later. CPanel was bad but simple. Now you have power but also you have problem when power go wrong.
siesta first, deploy later
