Jurong. The lift is small so it went up the stairs. Two friends, much complaining, many rests. Worth it for the colours though.
Desk setup: what item do you keep for sentimental reasons despite being obsolete
Stairs with a Trinitron, you have my respect and my sympathy both.
OVHcloud 2019 was my onboarding to "cloud is just someone else's computer" in the most visceral way. Roubaix datacenter, electrical fault, SBG2 down. Their transparency report after is why I stayed a customer.
I remember that. Their status page was refreshingly honest. "We do not yet know" is rare from a provider. Most would spin for days.
In Moscow we had customers on that Strasbourg region. 48 hours of explaining that no, I cannot fix OVHcloud. The Zip drive story is better than my stress dreams.
Transparency in failure builds trust faster than hiding it. This should be on posters.
My obsolete item is not on desk but in bag. Nokia E71. The keyboard is real and the battery lasts one week. I use for SMS backup number only. Modern phone is glass anxiety rectangle.
One week battery véi I am jealous kkkkk my iphone dies if I look at it wrong
Speaking of power draw, my obsolete item is a first-gen Raspberry Pi. Not sentimental, just too slow to sell and too wasteful to bin. Runs pihole at 2 watts. Better than landfill.
Pi as pihole is not obsolete, it is repurposed. My desk has a GPS disciplined oscillator from 2009. NTP stratum 1 for the house. Overkill but the LEDs blink satisfyingly.
