cPanel price hike again -- alternatives? So I got email from my host, cPanel solo going from $15 to $22/mo lol. This is on top of the license fee increase last year. I run like 3 WordPress sites for friends, no way this makes sense. Was thinking DirectAdmin but never used it. Or just go Hestia and learn the hard way? That CloudPanel thing looks too easy to be true. What you all doing? My budget is ramen level so I need out.

I moved all my clients to CloudPanel last year and never looked back! Sent ticket to their team once, got response in 20 minutes. Made test order on their demo first, very smooth. For small setups it is perfect -- but yes, only one user account, so keep that in mind! If you need reselling, Hestia is better choice. I run 8 sites on CloudPanel now, zero issues. Their file manager is basic but I use sftp anyway. Cheers!

Small correction: CloudPanel is not a control panel in the traditional multi-user hosting sense. It is a single-server management layer with no customer isolation, no per-user resource limits, and no integration with billing systems. If you are providing hosting to third parties, this is functionally equivalent to giving them root-equivalent access to your server.
DirectAdmin does support per-user resource limits through CloudLinux integration, though the LVE kernel module is a separate license. Hestia implements basic per-user limits via systemd or cgroup v2 on supported kernels.
For actual hosting providers, the BGP community of options narrows quickly. You need IRR-registered routes for your IP space, RPKI validation on customer-facing infrastructure, and a control panel that supports proper account isolation.
