You are joking. I checked. The font is NOT different, you just have font cache issues or different browser. I compared screenshots with exiftool, identical dimensions, identical color palette.

Please do not invent observations. This thread has enough fiction with the «developer quit» story.

How to say, I do not invent. The Düsseldorf meetup was real, the Contabo guy was real, I do not remember his name but he had the red shoes. Maybe he joke with me, maybe he tell the truth, I report what I hear.

The font, I do not know, I use Firefox ESR with uBlock, maybe I do not see the GIF at all.

prix fixe infrastructure: €5/mo

Following this thread. Does anyone have current experience with Contabo's St. Louis DC? Latency to St. Louis specifically. The sale price is tempting if the network is not garbage.

I do not have St. Louis, but I have Nuremberg. From Rotterdam: 18ms to Nuremberg, 23ms to Frankfurt, 31ms to London. Their network is not garbage, it is budget. Straight paths, no premium routing.

St. Louis to Chicago should be sub-20ms on any decent backbone. Contabo uses Cogent and Telia in Europe, I assume similar in US. Acceptable for the price.

Has anyone actually tried buying during this «sale» versus normal pricing? Is there a difference? Maybe the «sale» IS the price and always was.

I checked this. The €2 VPS I bought: same specs, same price, I compared with a friend who bought in June before the «sale.» Identical. The «flash sale» price is the regular price with a banner.

This is not even a discount. It is a discount costume.

This. The entire thread is about a fake timer for a fake discount that is actually the real price. We are all frogs in slowly boiling water, except the water was always this temperature and the frog is checking a spreadsheet.

Same here. I mean, I was going to post something new but prague1983 and jord50 covered it. The sale is the price. The countdown is decoration. The developer story is probably apocryphal but funny.

I will add: I have been running Contabo Mumbai for 8 months, €4.50 plan. Uptime 99.2%, one unscheduled reboot. For personal projects, fine. For production, I would not. But I knew that buying it.
