Contabo resold as "French hosting" at 30% markup

It is my humble opinion that perhaps we ought to discuss a matter which has troubled me considerably. I must apologise for any inconvenience my observation may cause.

I have made test orders with three providers advertising themselves as "hébergeur français indépendant." Each charged 30% above list price for what I discovered to be identical infrastructure: Contabo servers, KnownHost network, standard cPanel. The only differentiation was a tricolore logo and a .fr domain name.

Let us consider whether local support justifies this premium. In two cases, support was outsourced to the same ticket queue. In one case, responses arrived in English after twelve hours.

I do not wish to accuse. I merely ask whether this practice serves our community honorably.

Made test order with Vultr competitor last month, sent ticket in French, got reply in English from same IP range as Contabo support portal! Not even trying to hide it! Cheers!

Same hardware
Different price
Different logo
Profit margin was 40%
We laughed about it
In the ticket notes
Customer never knew

Life is tabs

Contabo servers? At 30% markup? That's not "indépendant", that's dropshipping.

/24 for sale. No lowballs.
