Their HostBill instance--and yes RAJ it is HostBill

Gracias. HostBill con VPS module de Proxmox o ESXi? Si es Proxmox VE module hay esperanza para partial automation.

Both times took 4-6 days

Four to six days to calculate a fraction. In 2003 I could phone my colo provider, speak to a human who knew my name, and see credit same-day. The automation everyone celebrates is just a moat to keep you from reaching anyone with authority. My ticket is 48 hours unanswered.

Following this with interest. Contabo's Sydney DC would save me latency to Wellington but not if I eat a full month on every test. Hetzner's Hillsboro is too far.

2003?? Luxury. Try explaining proration to a BBS sysop in '89 when your mom picks up the phone mid-download and you get billed for the connect time anyway. No ticket system, just angry voice mail on his answering machine.

I run a small rack in Karachi. For my test VMs I just use Proxmox on a Hetzner dedicated in Falkenstein, nested KVM. Hourly billing is meaningless when you own the metal. Contabo never made sense for my use case.

Has anyone actually tried Contabo's Windows Server images? I need IIS for a legacy app and their pricing is tempting but this thread is making me nervous.

Have you tried restarting it?

The math was: (days unused / 30) * monthly rate, minus some rounding down

So on a 4 EUR plan you are fighting for maybe 3.80 EUR back. The principle matters but my time has value too.

This was covered two months ago in the "Contabo Windows VPS experience" thread. Short version: Server 2019 works, 2022 has network driver issues on first boot, ticket required. Search is your friend.

Same experience here with Vultr, took 11 days to deny me. They don't even pretend. At least Contabo has the PDF clause.
