This. ARM64 winning is not surprising if you have been following AWS Graviton pricing. Contabo is just the budget version of same trend. I moved my CI from t3 to t4g last year, 40% cheaper, 15% faster. Same compiler, same flags.

presumably, but nproc on Contabo VPS is vCPU count, not physical core. ARM64 Altra exposes 80 real cores, your VPS gets 4 vCPU on 80-way box. X86_64 E5-v4 is 14 or 28 cores, your 4 vCPU fight harder for cache. This is the actual benchmark.

Same here on OVH ARM64 in Gravelines. 6.12 defconfig, 920s, 4 vCPU. Their x86_64 in same DC, 1100s. Not Contabo but same pattern. I think ARM64 is genuinely ahead for parallel compile workloads now, not just Contabo lottery.

Following. Want to see if anyone tests RISC-V with more than 2 cores. My Sipeed Maix is single board toy, not server.

You said this in turn 1 and never explained why traceroute matters for compile time. Are you downloading sources during compile? Using distcc? Otherwise it's irrelevant and you knew it was irrelevant.
