Backblaze is better than S3 for most of us

YABS on my $3 GreenCloudVPS VPS: 1.2GB/s read, 890MB/s write. Your $10 CloudCone can't touch that. Single metric, single truth.

Backblaze has one tier. S3 has 47 pricing dimensions and egress calculators that need a CS degree. For backups, static sites, small app storage, the complexity mismatch is absurd. AWS engineers will show up and talk about "actual use cases." Fine. But most of us are storing logs, images, and database dumps. We don't need cross-region replication to 14 zones. We need to know what the bill will be. Backblaze wins on simplicity. Fight me.

Electricity costs make or break any storage operation. I looked at Backblaze, the optimization on retrieval fees is... not straightforward. For my workload, the math only works if you never touch the data. Most people touch the data. Profitability depends on access patterns you don't disclose upfront.

`b2` vs `s3` is `infra` simplicity vs `k8s` ecosystem integration. `terraform` module for Backblaze? Exists. `velero` plugin? `csi` driver? `firecracker` snapshot target? Ship it

But `aws` has `s3` + `lambda` + `eventbridge` + `iam` policy chains. For `deploy to cluster` with `argo`, that synergy matters. Not saying you're wrong. Saying "most of us" depends on which `us`.

Backblaze was a hard drive company once. I remember when storage meant walking to the tape library. Now everything is "object this" and "serverless that". S3 was simpler in 2008, I'll give you that. But nothing stays simple when accountants get involved. I ran a T1 line to a colo in '94 and knew exactly what I paid for...

Enterprise-grade object storage requires redundant feeds, N+1 power, and multi-homed connectivity. Our facility offers both Backblaze and S3 endpoints with enterprise-grade SLA backing. For actual location, I can connect you with sales. The value proposition depends on your RPO and RTO requirements, which are enterprise-grade considerations.

What jihoonred86 describes is a value-added redistribution opportunity within our partner ecosystem. Leverage can be achieved by synergizing both platforms through strategic value-added redistribution. The markup is not disclosed publicly, but synergy is leveraged through our partner ecosystem. It is recommended that a consultation be scheduled.
