Same 72 hour thing here. Hetzner's terms -- https://www.hetzner.com -- have something about the contract period being automatically extended and payment being due a few days before the new period starts, from memory. It's explicit, we all clicked it.
Not saying it's fair. Just saying it's not hidden.

Harbourops not hidden but who reads T&Cs like a novel? I set a calendar alert for May 14, not May 11. Their system beat my system.
Kasiaxus paid by debit card, so chargeback is option but bank makes faces about those. Might try if cooling off fails.

Lee_mcr if you do look at alternatives, Contabo's UK datacenter in London might cut your latency versus Falkenstein or Helsinki. Same price in EUR though, so watch the exchange rate. Not trying to sell, just noting since you're already dealing with currency friction.
Our cancellation is in the control panel, no ticket needed, effective end of period. Most people want that flexibility.

This. I moved from Hetzner to Contabo last year after similar renewal fight. No issues since, their reminders actually remind.
128GB boxes at Hetzner auction are still unbeatable on price. I just set calendar alert for 7 days before AND 14 days before. Belt and suspenders. You dance with the devil, you learn the steps.

Surabayacandle Singapore is closest to you. No Indonesia location yet. Price starts at 4 EUR/month for VPS, same as Germany. You can check latency from your ISP with a simple ping test to our Singapore IP if you want real numbers.

30 days warning is luxury lah. My current host give 0 day warning. Charge at 2359 on expiry day, email at 0001 next day saying "renewed successfully." Thanks I guess?
