I've been in this game since 2004. The July quiet period is when sales teams actually need to move inventory. Black Friday is when marketing teams need to hit Q4 KPIs. Different incentives, same product. You want the real deals? Check February. Nobody shops for servers in February.

Last February I picked up a managed VPS from KnownHost, 2GB at $11/month annual. Their BF price for same spec was $14. Not posted as a "sale," just their normal February pricing that they don't advertise hard. You have to ask sales directly.
My script is still running. I added Hetzner cloud pricing this year because why sleep when you can scrape.
January vs November 2024 for CPX11:
- Jan: €5.35/month
- Nov "long term price": €5.85/month
They don't even pretend it's a sale. Just inflation notice with sad face.

I bought Hostinger in November last year because the timer scared me. Now I know. $15 for 1GB when my friend paid $12 in July. The timer is the tax.

In Argentina we have inflation so high that hosting in dollars is already a "deal" or a tragedy depending on the day. Black Friday, summer, whatever. I buy when the exchange rate is stable for three days. Last year that was March.
This thread convinced me to set a calendar alert for July 1 instead of November 1. Simple as that.
Stealing this for my client emails. I resell RackNerd and KnownHost, nothing fancy. My white label price in July is always lower than my "BF special" price in November. Clients who buy year-round know. New clients in November pay more and thank me for the "discount." I do not feel good about this but my margins are my margins.
Deliverability angle: the BF emails themselves are a signal. Hostinger sent me 7 emails in 10 days last November. Zero in July. Higher frequency correlates with worse deal, in my inbox and my wallet.
