Contabo responded to my ticket. They confirm "a fibre cut in the Balkan region affecting upstream redundancy" and estimate 72 hours for full restoration. No mention of GDPR Article 32. I have replied insisting on a formal incident report for my records.
72 hours is rough if you need the box for production. My Bangkok shop runs four servers, all cheap, spread across RackNerd LA and Amsterdam plus one OVHcloud Singapore for APAC. Never put everything on one provider or one geography.

São Paulo to EU is always bad, 180ms minimum, so I stopped caring about European cable faults years ago. I use OVHcloud Beauharnois for US latency and local providers for BR. XMR is essential here, banking is unreliable.
Anyone tried Hetzner for XMR? They are German, maybe same cable issue, but their routing to Finland is usually clean.
